The Delivery Driver position involves supporting the needs of the branch by delivering  equipment via a commercial vehicle in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.



  • Conduct daily inspections
  • Ensuring appropriate safety gear is readily available
  • Notifying administrator of any need PM or maintenance service work
  • Making sure chains and binders are inspected and replaced if necessary


  • Obtaining and completing all required paperwork accurately
  • Apply knowledge of Smith System provided training
  • Observing safety rules and regulations at customer job sites
  • Making sure load is secured and weight is disbursed
  • Watching for overhead obstacles
  • Checking weight on quantity hauls
  • Having proper permits as required

QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner

Required Skills/Experience:

Valid CDL-Class A driver’s license

Minimum 25 years of age

2 years of verifiable driving experience

Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card

Safe driving record

Working knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety Regulations/DOT  Guidelines

Effective verbal communication skills

 Ability to secure loads safely and securely

 Ability to operate equipment

 Preferred Skills/Experience:

 Experience operating various construction and/or material handling equipment


 High school education or equivalent

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

This position will be outdoors traveling to numerous customer locations.  The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.  The normal auto hazards will apply.

This position is continuously required to talk and hear; constantly required to sit, regularly required to stand, bend, squat and walk, frequently required to climb and crawl.

Must be able to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs and frequently lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs

Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety. (Initial hire requires passing of pre-employment background check, physical abilities test, DOT physical and drug test and driving record)
