The Low Volt Electrician is responsible for basic installation and wiring of low voltage (DC) control circuits, solar panel wiring and connections, low voltage (AC) power circuits and general fabrication.  Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
Essential Job Duties:
 Install low voltage DC wiring circuits:
  • basic understanding of low voltage DC circuits and general wiring practices
  • basic troubleshooting of DC low voltage circuits
  • attention to detail in wiring and connecting DC low voltage circuits
  • advanced understanding of electronics and how fuses, breakers and relays operate
Installation and wiring of solar circuits:
  • basic understanding of solar panel installations and basic solar panel wiring
  • basic understanding of solar panel sizing
  • basic understanding of solar charge controllers
Install low voltage AC wiring circuits:
  • basic understanding of low voltage AC circuits and general wiring practices
  • basic understanding of troubleshooting AC circuits
  • attention to detail in wiring and connecting AC low voltage circuits
  • advanced understanding of electronics and how fuses, breakers and relays operate
General fabrication skills:
  • ability to work with basic hand tools and power tools to fabricate electrical control boards and install basic low voltage (AC and DC) circuits
  • basic welding skills
  • ability to provide high level of fit and finish for items fabricated
  • maintain work area cleanliness
Required Skills/Experience
  • Minimum 2 years working with low voltage AC and DC circuits
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Clean driving record
  • Above average communication skills to include: two-way radios, phones, and e-mail
  • Ability to read and following instructions
  • Ability to accomplish duties with accuracy and timeliness
  • High level of attention to detail and fit-and-finish for all jobs performed
  • Procession of basic hand tools and power tools to complete the jobs assigned
  Preferred Skills/Experience
  • 6+ months of working with solar panels and solar circuitry
  • 2-yr Associates degree or higher or equivalent Technical School training
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
This position will be working at branch facilities mostly outdoors with the potential of traveling to customer locations. The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.  The normal auto hazards will apply.  This position will be frequently operating equipment with potential hazard.  Appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds on a frequent basis.  Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.  Position requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing and crawling.  Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling or squatting handling/fingering on a daily basis.  Position may require driving truck to and from customer locations or other branch locations on occasion.  Must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.  Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety. (Initial hire requires passing of pre-employment background check, physical abilities test, drug test and driving record)

This position is deemed a Safety Sensitive job for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment, the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act and the Louisiana Therapeutic Marijuana Act.
